It’s happened to me plenty of times, and I’m sure it’s happened to you too! Of course, these domains are usually taken, but now you don’t have to worry about that anymore.

You can register free domains with a tool like NameCheap and register any domain name you want, even if it’s already taken!.

Don’t Forget About the TLD.

One thing a lot of business owners don’t think about is that .com and .net are not your only options when it comes to registering domains. If you have a specific need, such as marketing yourself in a geographic area, or if you just have an idea for a really specific domain name, there are TLDs (Top Level Domains) like .local or .restaurant that may work well for you.

They can help you reach niche customers without spending big bucks on advertising campaigns. Search Google's list of approved TLDs here to learn more about what they do and where they're available.

Don’t use popular keyword searches.

The most popular keywords are often overused and won’t make sense in your content. Instead, try finding a keyword that’s related but not as well-known. You can do so by thinking about how people would say a particular keyword aloud (or typing it into Google or YouTube).

If it sounds natural, then you should use it! Example: Let’s say I run an ecommerce site selling sunglasses. I decide to write an article called The Best Sunglasses for Men Under $100, but sunglasses is such a broad term that it will be hard to rank with such competitive keywords.

Use a Thesaurus.

The process of finding a domain name that best fits your website is an important one; not only does it help you attract people searching for your topic, but it also lets them know what type of content they can expect from you.

Instead of stopping at common words like website or site, use a Thesaurus and find uncommon alternatives, which will help you rank higher in search engines. That way, if someone searches for content marketing, they’ll end up on your page instead of Wikipedia’s.

Keep it Short and Simple.

Today, Internet users are notorious for quickly skimming content and moving on if they find it too long or too wordy. As you register free domains, avoid using big words and confusing jargon. Instead, think about how a new Internet user might describe your service or product to a friend or colleague. You might end up coming up with some pretty clever domain names that way! Just remember not to be too clever - make sure your domain is simple enough that potential customers can easily find you online.

Search in Other Languages.

Don’t overlook translating your content into other languages. Google has been steadily adding more languages to its search engine, and it can pay off in spades if you offer a worldwide audience (or at least a global one).

  •  For example, when we look up register free domains in German (Eintragung kostenloser domain-Namen), we get 1,100 results—but that’s only if we translate our query directly from English.

  •  If we switch to Spanish (registro gratuito de dominios) or French (inscription gratuite de domaine), however, we get 6,400 and 5,600 results respectively.

  •  And those are just three of nearly 50 languages available on Google Translate! It might not be worth pursuing translation unless you have an international audience—but even then it could be worthwhile to target specific regions or countries with certain topics or keywords.

Think Visually.

You’ve got a lot of factors to consider when you’re looking for a domain name. The .com, .net and .org suffixes can be tricky (choose wisely), and certain words are taken off-limits because they’re trademarked by other companies or entities.

You also want something short, memorable and simple, so your customers will type it into their browsers without a second thought. Keep these things in mind as you browse possible names—you don’t want your website visitors having to think too hard!

Free domains list.

Now that you’ve figured out what you want your site to be about, it’s time to choose a domain name. There are two ways of getting one—paying for it and finding a free one.

This guide will teach you how to register free domains and walk you through each part of the process. You don’t have a lot of time here, so make sure you act quickly if you want your desired URL!.

Google Domains.

Google provides a domain name registration service that lets you use their servers and services. You'll save money by not having to rent your own servers and pay a web host. And, if you ever want to transfer your site, it will be simple because you don't have any other registrar involved in moving things over.

The downside is that Google Domains doesn't offer everything regular domain registrars do; however, it's a great place to start if you don't want to deal with all of that stuff yourself.

Freenom.

Registration is free and easy, but registering a domain with Freenom comes with a lot of benefits. You get access to one-click parking, which makes setting up your website easier.

  •  They also have a free service called WhoisGuard that will protect your identity when you buy or sell domains on sites like eBay or Flippa.
  •  If you do end up purchasing through one of those sites and your domain name is in Freenom's registry, it will be safe from copyright trolls and other interested parties who may try to take advantage of your name choice.
  •  This can be particularly helpful if you're trying to sell domains that are keyword rich, or if you want to protect yourself from legal action down the road.

Hostinger.

This is one of my favorite and easy-to-use web hosting companies out there. I’ve been using them since 2012, and they’ve never given me any major problems.

  •  They also have a variety of hosting packages that are perfect for everyone from bloggers just starting out to more experienced users who have higher storage and bandwidth needs.

  •  You can save even more money by taking advantage of their special discounts and coupons.

  •  In addition, Hostinger offers 24/7 customer support via chat, email, or phone in case you need help with anything related to your website or hosting experience.

  •  Even if you aren’t a web developer or designer yourself, I highly recommend checking out Hostinger if you need a new website host!.
